I write that title with only a little bit of sarcasm today... I think they've done something right.

Now, having said that, I'd like to lower everyone's expectations. There is no way that Obama is going to live up to everybody's hopes. It seems practically impossible that any human being could live up to that much, let alone a politician...
All he has to do to satisfy me is to be less awful than Bush has been, which shouldn't be too hard. However, as those of you from the UK will know all too well, 10 years ago we had a power shift from a government that had been around far too long, and lots of people got very excited at first, and all the new guy had to do was be better than the last. Out of that came Tony Blair, I'm afraid.
Still, for now I think there is good cause to be optimistic and cheerful. Make the most of it, such opportunities don't come around very often in politics...

That's exactly what I fear as well. There will be so much internal things to clean up, that the world will not profit that much (except that the US will be a bit more consistent of course).
But give or take, *change is definitely in the air* although we don't know how strongly it will effect the other continents

Re: God bless America
It would be best that the Americans would keep a low profile (as low as it is possible for them) for the next couple of years and clean stuff up internally and externally.
Not exactly a radical change, but reasonable.
