Watching the trailer to COM made me think about colours. Everyone knows that a Banana is yellow. But if I seriously think about it, Bananas taste much more pinkish. Please join me in collecting and discussing tastes and smells and what colour you associate it with.
It appears the authorities and the family have conceded at least tactical defeat and are hopeful but aren't expecting Maddie will be found now. We, here at Thudgame, wish for her to remain/rest in peace as much as can be had wherever she may be.

well, i'm not exactly a fan of pink, so i'm not sure what it tastes like. but then i'm not exactly a fan of bananananas either, so you might be right...

that's only cos the skin of a banana is yellow,and so is the banana,quite a weird fruit actually,a banana,but anyway i think people think a certain taste is a colour cos the actual look of the food/drink/whatever is what links to the taste in our mind,that make any sense?

I think the word you are looking for is synesthesia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synesthesia i word i quite like as it is officially spelt in amlost as many ways as i would spell it
i think in recent experiments it was discovered that although a lot of those with synesthesia do have similar associations not all do tho some common ones have entered common parlance like blues for depression. BTW as the recently deceased Archchancellor Trymon *1 said in COM "Bananannas don't grow on trees you know" *2 and therefore are not a fruit.

I like the second part even better. If you consider this then Strawberries and blackberries are not fruits either. Whereas I have to admit that Strawberries technically speaking are nuts.
But either way, for me blackberries taste a dark shade of green to me while Strawberries somehow are a light yellow.

I dont know if its been mention (i cant be bothered to check), but some people actually taste sights... for example a person could see a very ordinary dog and get a taste of chocolate in their mouth! its a strange condition, but it's out there.

well, it is possible to connect reflexes with sounds and maybe even sights by training. so maybe if you always give a person chocolate when they see a dog, the sight of a dog might get connected to the taste of chocolate...

so basically what you're saying is that all of our senses react differently together, and in different combinations they create different results...now for some reason this one guy has that weird condition where sight and taste together create an unusual reaction, much like the guy who's blind, but clicks his tongue so he can bounce soundwaves off objects to thereby gauge distances and depth of field. correct?
that would mean [or is at least a good possiblity] that this guy who uses taste and sight has possibly got an issue with another of his senses, that's why other senses become sharper...hmmm?

I'm not entirely sure if really one sense needs to be reduced for another one to improve. Can't you just train one sense higher than the others? I can imagine that it is possible to train all your senses higher than the senses of other people.
But the connection of two different senses is kinda strange. what a difficult mechanism the brain actually is.

i'm sure you can train your senses without having a problem with the others, but when you lose one [ even if only partially] it'd probably make it easier, cos the body has to adapt.
